Frequently Asked Questions About This Plan

  • Would you be kind enough to explain to me how this house should be heated? I live in the Colorado mountains at about 8500 feet in elevation, and it gets really cold in the winter. I'm not sure if I can somehow have a gas central heating unit placed in this plan, or do I have to go the baseboard heat route? Another question. Where does the breaker box go in the house? Can it be in the water heater area off of the bedroom?

    If it were mine, I would use mainly wood with electric wall units as backups. You could use a horizontal gas forced air furnace in the crawl space. I doubt if they will let you place the panel in with the water heater so the best location is probably behind the bedroom door.
